Because The Temmy Latner Centre receives only some of it's funding from Mount Sinai Hospital and the Ontario Ministry of Health, we rely heavily on donations from people in the community to enable us to provide palliative care services.

The need for palliative care continues to increase as the population ages and the number of people diagnosed with a life-threatening illness expands each year. As the demand for care continues to escalate beyond the resources available to us, we rely even more heavily on community support.

Often, members of the public want to help others, but they aren't sure how to go about it. This year, please choose to donate to palliative care, and you will be helping others to receive compassionate care at the end of life.

For those who are unable to make a donations to our Centre, we encourage community participation in palliative care, and we believe that every person can effect change. Although the Centre does not currently have a formal volunteer program, we hope to establish one in the future. Thus, we encourage volunteering with Mount Sinai Hospital or with other volunteer programs in the community.
