Dr. Meuser is a family physician who practised comprehensive family medicine, including emergency and low-risk obstetrics work, for 23 years and now engages in home palliative care. He was the Residency Program Director and subsequently Chief of Family Practice at Toronto East General Hospital. Since 2004, Dr. Meuser has been Director of Professional Development in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto, where he holds the academic rank of Associate Professor. He is also Chair of the Department Appointments Committee. Dr. Meuser serves as Medical Advisor to the Toronto Central Community Care Access Centre, and is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Centre for Effective Practice, a not-for-profit corporation focused on addressing the gap between optimal and actual practice in primary care.
